“I was given this hazelnut in Worcester Cathedral when I was about 12. One particular sermon shared a vision and quote from┬áJulian of Norwich:

‘And in this he showed me a little thing, the quantity of a hazel nut lying in the palm of my hand. I looked upon it with the eye of my understanding and thought what may this be. And it was answered ‘It is all that is made.’ And I was answered in my understanding: It lasts and ever shall, for God loves it… In this little thing I saw three properties. The first is that God made it. The second that God loves it. And the third, that God keeps it.’

We were all given hazelnuts as we left and this is mine, and it acts as a reminder that whatever is going on, all that God has made is loved and secure and I have been reminded of that many times over the years…”
